Harley Evolution Engine

The Evolution engine widely known as Evo or Blockhead is an 45 degree, V-twin motorcycle engine manufactured by the Harley Davidson Motor Company. It was displacement for HD Big Twin bikes, replacing the Shovelhead engine.

Most analysts consider the Evolution Engine, saved the reorganized Harley-Davidson company from certain bankruptcy. It took seven years of development before the Blockhead made it’s appearance in 1984, and it provided 15 years of durable service.

Harley-Davidson unveils the 1340cc V²® Evolution® engine on five models. The result of 7 years of development and research, the Evolution engine produces more power at every speed, runs smother, cleaner and is oil-tight.
